Song you listen to when you're happy?
when I am happy I will listen to anything with a happy sing-a-long, dance-a-long beat such as Madonna "Material Girl", Katy Perry "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)", Guns N' Roses "Paradise City", Cyndi Lauper "Girls Just want To Have fun"" to name a few!
Song you listen to when you're sad?
When I am sad I can go two ways with my music I can choose to go the path of upbeat music like Cher "Strong Enough" to get myself up and moving and out of my funk or I can go down the dark path and listen to something like Imagine Dragons "Demons", it all depends on what I am sad about and if I need a really good cry Adel always pulls on the heart strings!
What song will you have at your wedding?
Well at the moment I am not even thinking of wedding songs but one that will be played no matter what age I get married at has to be Meat Loaf "I'd Do Anything For Love" just because it is the song me and my cousin kinda claim as ours. Who you ask? Well when we were like 4 year old he got a play guitar and microphone and we totally rocked out to "I'd Do Anything For Love" and my family thought it was the most cute thing they have ever seen, so its kinda our song. Along with thins anything 80's!
What song do you dance around the house to?
Simple Minds "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and of course Whitney Houston "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" You just have to dance to these songs!
Song you play on your headphones when out and about?
When I am out I am usually shopping or walking so I have my go to music where it helps me keep pace like Demi Lovato "Neon Lights" and anything with a good beat to it. There is a lot of The Script playing when I am out and 80's power ballads if I don't just have my iPod on shuffle!
Song you listen to when you're angry?
Good Charlotte really plays a part when I am angry, I go up to my room put in my headphones and blast songs like "The River" featuring M.Shadows & Synyster Gates and some Demi Lovato, All American Rejects and also a few Lost Prophets tracks. Now I know that my choice of Lost Prophets may be a controversial choice with the incidents that have come to light over the past year or so but I believe that we should be able to separate the art from the artist, there has been so many artists in a similar position but their work is known as some of the best music created. In no way am I trying to create a controversial debate here I am just defending my choice and my belief that we should separate the art from the artist.
Song that makes you lose your shit at a party?
In my earlier days before I met my boyfriend my best friend and I used to go out a lot and one song that would get us pumped up for the night and make us dance like no one was watching (clearly after we had a good few shots) was David Guetta Feat Sia "Titanium" and even now I can not help but break out in dance when I hear it. I guess it just has a lot of good memories attached to it too!
The last song you listened to?
My iPod has just finished playing one of my favourite songs at the moment and that is The Script "Paint The Town Green" from their new album "No Sound Without Silence". I love the lyrics and the beat to this song and it is so hard to not jump up on the bus and start doing a bit of Irish Dancing when this song comes on!
Song you want to see live?
I would love to see "Times Like These" by Foo Fighters and thanks to my amazing boyfriend I may get the chance to as he has got us tickets to see them in Slane Castle this summer and I CAN NOT WAIT! I am so excited!!!!!
Your karaoke song?
I am not a karaoke kinda girl but when I am in my room I love to belt out songs as I listen to them I am ashamed to admit my neighbors have heard me at times! The song I love singing is Demi Lovato "Really Don't Care" its just an upbeat catchy song.
What song do you work out/exercise to?
Something to keep me in the mood so I go for things like Bon Jovi "Its My Life" and "Livin On A Prayer" alot of cheesy 80's music too!
Song with the most memories attached?
Okay this one is going to have a few songs that I have to share with you (each will have a video attatched!).
The first one is going to be The Fureys "When You Were Sweet Sixteen". I did not realize that this song was embedded in my mind with such prominent memories. I heard this some for the first time about 6 months ago. My boyfriends dad was sat in the kitchen playing it on the guitar and without hearing the words or asking him what the song was I knew it and memories came flooding back. When I lived in England when when we first moved over to Ireland my mother would always play irish music on a Saturday morning while she would clean the house and this song just made that small but for some reason significant memory come back.
Next is the song that really shocked my boyfriend the night I met him because he did not think I was the type of girl that even knew who Lynyrd Skynyrd was let alone love the song "Free Bird". I guess that was a part of him I fell in love with in an instant.
Finally is a song that I have always loved and really does remind me to never forget where I came from. You have probably guessed that it is "Never Forget" by Take That. I look at the life my parents have given me and our family and I am so lucky especially when I look at how far my parents have come. I constantly go back to where I am from in England and I see our old house and it makes me so thankful to my parents for giving me everything I have today. I am greatfull for everything I have when I see where my parents started and where they are now. I will never forget my background no matter what.
Song that makes you cry?
Demi Lovato "Skyscraper". This song makes me cry because I relate to it. I have been in that place where people have done nothing but tear me down and take everything that was me away. I have been at rock bottom but I still pulled myself together and I am now standing taller that the people who did that to me. It is not necessarily tears of sadness but of joy sometimes because I have come back from nothing stronger than ever and I have so much more now than I ever did.
Guilty pleasure song?
It would probably have to be One Direction! I know I can hear you judging me! I like some of their stuff it is catchy so you can't help but find yourself singing along to it! One I really like is "What Makes You Beautiful"
Favourite song from a musical?
There are two songs that are my favourite and they are both from Wicked. One musical I am dying to see and one day I will get to see it!
Song number one is "For Good"
Song number two "Defying Gravity"
Song by an Irish artist?
Well it has to be by the 'it' band at the moment (and one of my favourite bands) The Script! Its so hard to pick one song as I love them all but "The Hall Of Fame" is a song that just pumps you up and gets you ready for the day. However, I do prefer the album version without will.i.am
Favourite song to play on an instrument?
I can not play an instrument to save my life but I do like the Cranberries "Zombi" when it is played on a guitar
Song you hate the most?
I don't really hate any songs I like a wide variety of music from rock to pop to punk to swing to classical so I can not really answer this one I am afraid.
Your favourite song of all time?
I think it would have to be my name sake "Kayleigh" by Marillion because without this song I would not have my name! Even if this is a song in which the lead singer is apologizing to all his ex girlfriends, it sure does not sound like an apology song haha. So here it is........ ME hahaha!
Okay so that is my music tag! I hope you all enjoyed my chosen songs.
Now I tag all you to do the music tag and share your love of music :)
xoxo
