I have seen this around for a while and I have wondered if it is just as good as its more expensive counterpart. Like always I have taken the time to read other bloggers reviews of the product and they all seem to be of the same opinion, that it is just as good as the Benefit They're Real.
So lets get down to the nitty gritty stuff like the pigmentation and wand and all that girly stuff that makes my boyfriend roll his eyes and totally zone out when I talk about it.
When you see the mascara first your mind would be tricked into thinking it is the Benefit Thery're Real due to the same shaped tube and design. Even the label has the same mixed font with the block letters in the first word and then the cursive in the second word.
The wands of the two brands are almost identical, if the tubes were not slightly different shades and W7 printed on the top of the lid I would mix them up. The wand is plastic with a ball of short bristles on the top of it to help you coat all those little lashes that can get missed.
Next up the pigmentation! This is where I can really tell the W7 Absolute Lashes apart from the Benefit They're Real. There is a big difference between the quality of the mascara which I was very disappointed with after reading so many glowing reviews of it. In the photo to the right I have W7 Absolute Lashes on the left eye (and in the second photo) and Benefit They're Real on the right eye. I used two coats of both mascara in this picture and there is a big difference in the finish of the lashes. I found the formula of the Absolute Lashes mascara to be dry but at the same time very lightly pigmented when compared to Benefit. To get the same lash effect as I get when I use the Benefit I have to use four or more coats of it . I have found that using many coats of the Absolute Lashes can clump the lashes together and even with a lash separator comb it can be hard to get rid of the clumps of lashes. On the plus side when you do get your lashes looking perfect with the mascara it can last just as long as its Benefit counterpart.
The removal? As it lasts just as long as They're Real it is just as hard to get off. At first I tried to remove it with just a make up removal wipe but that did not work and I had to get out my No7 Eye Make Up Remover. This remover is oil based so it breaks down the mascara while it conditions the lashes.
This mascara retails for £6.95 on their website here. You can also get the W7 cosmetics range in many stockist in Ireland and also in The Cosmetics Outlet and on their site thecosmeticoutlet.ie.
When I consider everything about this mascara, the ups and the downs, it is with a heavy heart that I say that I am not a fan of it. It is so hard for me to say that because I love all my other W7 products! This would never stop me buying and trying other W7 products.
This is only my opinion of this mascara have you tried this?
What do you think about this mascara?
xoxo
