Lets Talk Blog Challenge Week 1~A Day In The Life Of Kayliegh Land!

So this is the first day of the #LetsTalkBlogChallenge created by the lovely Sarah of At The Beauty Desk. This is a 6 week challenge with each week having a different topic and each post will be up at 8pm every Monday night! I am hoping this will get me on more of a schedule of posting rather than just posting as and when I feel like it.

So this week is an introductory post of a day in the life of me. As many who know me know I am currently unemployed so I have no idea how exciting this post may be for you to read as my everyday life revolves around cooking, cleaning, crafting and talking to my cat (yes I know I sound crazy with that last one).
Every morning I wake up about 7:30 or 8am and have a cup of coffee to get me going for the day and then into the shower I go. Like everyone I have a morning routine and I stick to it so I can feel productive throughout the day. So once I get out of the shower I undergo my daily skin routine with my No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser (review here), No7 Soft and Smooth toner, No7 Essential Moisture day fluid (on days that my skin is really dry I use the No7 Beautiful Skin Dry Skin Rescue). This leaves my face feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead. As many of you know I have been tanning with the Cocoa Brown tanning products so every day I use the Chocolate Whip moisturiser to ensure an even fade of the tan. If I have not been using the can tan I use their new Gentle Bronze as it has the best of both worlds with tan and moisturiser! Finally I dry my hair and style it if I am going out that day or just throw it up in a pony tail or a bun if I am lounging around, then get dressed.

By this point it is about mid morning and I set about doing any housework that
needs doing. I like to keep my hands busy so I like to sew, knit and crochet. I love to create something from nothing and be able to look at it and say "I made that". The most recent things I have made is a crochet baby patchwork blanket for by boyfriends nephew, a kimono styled jacket and the bag (pictured to the left). I love having a creative outlet that is also productive and useful for when I move out of my parents house.

Like any girl I love relaxing and taking some me time during the day so as I am
alone at home all day I will sit back and enjoy a bit of girly tv while I do my nails. As I mentioned before I am alone all day so my cat is my main company, sometimes she will just appear on the sofa beside me or hop up onto my bed and is I am really lonely I will talk to her (not that she really talks back she is asleep most of the time).

My second favorite room of the house would have to be my
parents big kitchen, if I am not in my room you can guarantee this is where I will be.  I love cooking and baking and creating new recipes, I ma like my dad in that way. A lot of my best memories are in the kitchen helping my dad cook up something new when he was experimenting and baking with my mum. I have the best of both worlds with my parents as my dad trained as a chef when he went to college so I learned how to do all the classical cooking and technical stuff from him. My mum was taught by her mother so she showed me how to do all the home cook things like pies, cakes, cookies, buns, and we always had to do them the hard way from scratch with no electric whisks. The kitchen is big and I love having it to myself when I am cooking. Cooking is my release when something is bothering me, when I am worried about something I can supply my family with cakes and cookies for a week. I find something so therapeutic about measuring out the ingredients, mixing them  and waiting for the dish to cook, it really helps me to take my mind off everything and just relax. Over the past month or so I have been cooking slimming world food to loose weight so I am the designated cook for the house and I love having the power in the kitchen!

After dinner I usually chill out with my parents and watch a cooking show or a quiz show then chill out in my room for the rest
of the night. This is the time that I take to Kayliegh Land and write out posts, reviews and plan new posts that are coming up. I love my room it is the place that is mine and no one can take that away from me. My room is a reflection of me, my parents let me do what I want with it, a lot of the time I do something with the walls that my dad does not think of but eventually it grows on him and
then I end up decorating it all over again.

At the end of the day I love to lay back in bed with a movie, chatting on the phone to my boyfriend and light my candles. This just helps me wind down and get ready for a good night sleep.

So that is a day in the life of me, Kayliegh! Not too exciting I know, but if you stuck out my ramblings to this point I congratulate you, I do. Make sure you stick around for the coming weeks for more topics of the #LetsTalkBlogChallenge. Don't forget to follow on bloglovin, facebook and twitter to keep up to date with all things Kayliegh Land. 2. I love that you get up early and stick to a routine. I wish I did that when I was unemployed rather than hiding under the duvet.

    1. There are days where I just want to stay under my duvet but I don't have much choice, need to be productive to keep me sane!

  3. Oh my god you're so creative. You should do something with your talent...Your parents kitchen looks like something from a cookery show. To be able to cook and bake is amazing. My second favourite room is the kitchen too, just something about being around food and baking (I just wish I did it more cause it's just so relaxing and comforting) you're cat is so adorable too. Thanks so much for doing my challenge. Amazing to see everyones life outside of their blogs ;)

    1. Aww thank you! I know I love the kitchen, I need a kitchen like my parents when I move out, it is such a nice kitchen to cook in and I love their cooker! Oh yeah I agree that cooking and baking is so relaxing it helps me start to wind down for the night. My cat is so funny she snores so loudly for a cat. She knows when people should be in the house and when they should be out and if you are here when your not meant to be here you get some funny looks from here hahaha. I am looking forward to doing the next few week, can't wait to read all the posts!
